I went pretty early to the gym today. Normally, I go somewhere between 12-3pm but today, I went at 8:40am-ish. I liked it and wasn’t as tired as I thought I would be. I did another upper body and will rotate to lower tomorrow. I’ve been pondering whether or not to add more rest days or go back to my old split because I might overtrain myself. I’ve never really looked this up but maybe I should. I was also thinking about whether or not I should be trying to get back up to my “normal” weights too fast because I thought I would be at risk for injuries. I’ll see through the rest of the routine this week + next and I’ll make a decision then.
Other thing I did today were db tricep extensions, db curls, and db flyes.
Today (Weight in lbs):
DB Bench Press: 20x10, 45x8, 65x5, 70x5, 75x5
BB Incline Bench Press: 135x5, 135x5, 135x5
BB Row: 115x5, 115x5 Meh, didn’t feel like doing em
BB Overhead Press: 65x5, 85x5, 95x5 I loved these. I tried em on the regular bars and they felt great.
DB Lateral Raise: 15x8, 20x8, 20x8, 20x8
Pec Deck Rear Flyes: 55-75x8 for around 3 reps I think
Seated Shoulder Press: 6 or 7 setting just trying to get a burn.
Face Pulls: I forget. I think it was on 10 or 12? Fucking stupid machine weights.
Shrugs: 60x8, 75x8 Felt something in my shoulder during these. I felt it momentarily, almost like a dull needle poked me extremely quickly then it vanished.
Dull story time! I’m about to dig into my db bench sets when a obese guy walks in. He walked up to the scale and then I went on with my sets. I thought nothing of it until 5 minutes later, he’s still on the scale. I went wtf in my head and continued with my gym sesh. I finish doing something then see him finally get off the scale and walk toward the leg press machines area. I look around after finishing something else then see that no one else is there so he must have left. Poor guy, I hope he wasn’t scared off or something. I respect anyone who tries to better themselves in anyway.
